My Dearest Friend

The original concept for this project was titled ‘Kicked out of Wonderland’. The project's purpose was to embody the idea of when circumstances change drastically how difficult the adjustment can be. I intended to shoot more characters but six months post-shoot, I decided to detach from the concept and story altogether. These photos no longer personify this feeling to me, rather encumber a sense of loneliness. This isolation of not having time to be alone and how we allocate our precious time leaves us all disappointed and in the end, by ourselves. The character in the photos represents loneliness itself grasping onto time, perhaps memories that make us feel like our existence has a purpose. Although feeling lonely is generally linked to negative emotions like sadness, there is a chilling comfort to it. We can all get lost in it if we are not careful.
